iPhones have been bragging about water resistance since 2016 and thus the arrival of the iPhone 7. The fact is that, on paper, their water resistance is relatively weak, as it is officially "set" to lower units of meters under water for less than tens of minutes due to certifications, but practice is often much happier. Even a young Brazilian knows about it, his iPhone has now survived at the bottom of the lake for a whole week.

The Brazilian technology portal G1 came up with a rather interesting story a few days ago. The main role in it is played by the iPhone 11, which fell out of the owner's pocket during the rescue of a drowning woman on Lake Paranoa in the capital of Brazil, and the latter therefore more or less said goodbye to it. A week later, however, it was found at a depth of seven meters by a diving instructor who not only managed to turn on the phone, but also contacted its owner thanks to emergency contacts and returned the phone to him. He subsequently unlocked it without any problem and, after finding out that it was in perfect order, began to use it fully again. At the same time, the iPhone 11 has "only" IP68 certification, which is supposed to guarantee its survival in "only" two meters of depth for 30 minutes. However, the reality was, at least in this case, completely different.

It is quite interesting that the iPhone 68 Pro introduced last year also has IP14 certification. Apple however, it states that thanks to more advanced sealing systems and increased overall durability, the phone can last up to six meters for 30 minutes. So it is evident that he has offended in the field of water resistance Apple quite a long way in recent years. It's just a shame that the water damage of his smartphones is still not covered by the warranty and therefore it is generally recommended not to test the waterproofness of iPhones too much. In case of damage, you will pay for the repair yourself.
