Wondering how to set a custom ringtone on your iPhone? Most Apple phone users use the same ringtone, which can be quite confusing in some cases - especially when you are in a large group or in public. At the same time, the change is not complicated at all. So why not be different from other apple growers and play your own tune? Therefore, in this article we will focus on how to set a custom ringtone on iPhone. In principle, two options are offered.
How to set a custom ringtone on iPhone via the iTunes Store
If you are looking for the easiest way, then the iTunes Store will help you, with the help of which you can set your own melody in the left rear.
- Open it iTunes Store and go to the section Sounds > Ringtone > Show all
- Find the song you'd like to set as your ringtone
- Buy her by tapping her price
- Keep it automatically set as ringtone, or set it up later (via the iTunes Store)
As we mentioned above, this is the easiest way to set your own ringtone. However, it is necessary to expect a relatively limited selection. Fortunately, there is one more option, thanks to which you can set any song as a ringtone, even without any purchase.
Custom ringtones on iPhone via GarageBand
- Download any song you want to set as ringtone to your iPhone
- Download from App Store application GarageBand, which you will need to edit the track
- Open it GarageBand, where you have to open the so-called Audio recorder (from section TRACKS)
- Select the second item from the upper left panel to move to the program's clean screen
- In the upper right corner, tap loop icon (resembling the Greek capital letter omega) where you can import the necessary song. If you have a song downloaded, you'll probably want to import it from Files. Find her and follow her drag into the app.
- Click on the icon in the upper right corner more and change the setting to By hand a 30 bars.
- Now it's important to edit the song so that the chorus, for example, plays when you ring. Just tap on a track and select an option Trim, making the cut.
- Then just tap on the top left down arrow > My compositions and rename the current project.
- Then on to the project hold your finger and tap on Share. You will be presented with three options to choose from Ringtone, set the name and confirm with the button Export. Once done, you will be presented with a menu Use sound like. Click on the button and then you can use the sound as a ringtone, SMS sound, or assign it to a contact. Choose therefore Default ringtone.
I use my own ringtone via garageband and it's great (I know this from here before!)
I don't know if something has changed in the last 2-3 years, but going from Kladno to Prague via the shortest route through Mongolia can only be described as great
That's so typically Applovian, scratching behind the left ear with the right foot 🤣
Pro Apple is the primary buy/sell
Everything else is "circulation" 🤷♂️
My grandfather used to say. Let's take a shortcut... although it's a longer way, but it's worse...
On my Mac, I simply cut a favorite song for 30 seconds, save it as m4r, upload it to my iPhone via the Finder, and there it is. And in case I ever set up an iPhone as a new one, I have these m4r files saved aside, because I don't want to lose my ringtone.
