We decided to focus on that before we tackle the Beats Pill.” Finally, in the interview, Schusser got to the technical details of the physical design changes, thanks to which the new Beats Pill provides better sound in an overall lighter design.

"With the previous Pill+ we had two woofers and two tweeters, both round," explained technology expert Bruksch, while Schusser kept more of an overall view. “We completely redid that and replaced it with one elliptical woofer and one tweeter, which are much better and can play louder, with more volume and less distortion. The woofer alone can move 1,9 times more air than both woofers in the Pill+ combined. They have stronger neodymium magnets and a 20% stronger motor. Together, this all means a much better potential for low end and cleaner bass reproduction.” Schusser's position gives him a unique opportunity to comment on Apple's ambitions in various departments, and so on the whole interview definitely worth a read.
