Instagram has a problem! As of this morning, Turkey, where around a quarter of a million Czechs spend their holidays every year, suddenly started blocking it on its territory. Although the Turkish Telecommunications Authority did not disclose the reason, foreign media and information agencies are clear.
According to them, the reason for the blocking of Instagram in Turkey is the recent killing of the head of Hamas, Hanija, due to which the country has even declared state mourning today. Israel is probably behind the attack, but it refused to comment on the matter in any way. However, Iran and Hamas identified him as the mastermind of the attack almost immediately after Haniyeh's death. At the moment, however, the question is not only why Turkey started blocking Instagram, but also whether it will be an act of a longer-term nature or just a short-term act associated with today's national mourning. Be that as it may, Turkey is already being harshly criticized from practically all sides for this step comparable to censorship.
