Yesterday afternoon we informed you that Apple stops selling its latest iPhones with Lightning ports across the European Union, while in the Czech Republic it was still possible at that time through its Apple Online Store to buy in all color variants and configurations. However, when you now try to click through to the iPhone SE 3 or 14 (Plus) purchase process, you will only see the message "The page you are looking for cannot be found". In the app Apple The iPhone SE and 14 (Plus) iPhones SE and XNUMX (Plus) are completely missing the Store on the iPhone or iPad, so you won't even click on the error message. The whole situation surrounding the end of sales of these models, which stems from the EU regulation regarding the sale of electronics with a single charging port, is however – as is customary with Apple – resolved in a rather Solomonic way and could be described to some extent as a cat's dog.
The European Union itself, in its press release issued in October 2022, states, that although from 2025 all smartphones and a number of other products sold in the EU will have to have a USB-C port for charging purposes, however, the same press release states that "however, the rules will not apply to products placed on the market before the effective date." In other words, Apple is in no way obligated to stop selling iPhones with Lightning by the end of the year, since they were introduced long before the effective date. On his part, it is in a way only a gesture of friendliness, which, however, is not so welcoming in the end.
While on the official Apple You can no longer buy iPhones with lightning ports from the Online Store, these models can still be purchased without any problem at all other sellers - including authorized ones, of course. Moreover, it cannot be expected that this situation would change in any way soon. On the one hand, because you can still buy even brand new iPhones 11, 12 or 13 from the same sellers - i.e. iPhones that Apple it hasn't been officially selling for a few years now, but continues to produce in order to have its portfolio as broad as possible and thus be able to reach as many potential buyers as possible.
Bottom line, sum up – Apple although apparently it stopped selling iPhones 14, 14 Plus and SE 3 in the Czech Republic, but in reality this did not happen and you can still get these phones without any problems. In the case of the SE 3, it can be expected that this will be valid at least until the beginning of next year, when this model will replace the iPhone SE 4, but in the case of the 14 and 14 Plus models, given the sales of the older generations, it can be expected that they will be available for purchase at least another three years without major problems. Because no EU regulations apply to these models and Apple he would be against himself if he decided not to distribute them - if only because he simply could.
It doesn't even throw me a message on the site, it just reloads the basic iPhone page.
