Apple a little while ago released to the public the operating system for Macs that has been tested for more than a quarter of a year - macOS 10.14 Mojave. This happens exactly one week after the release of the trio of operating systems led by iOS 12. What did the new macOS Mojave bring, which Macs is it compatible with and how to update to it?

And we introduced you to the vast majority of the news in the previous months and in the review published yesterday. Nevertheless, macOS Mojave deserves a small summary in this article as well. In it, you will see both increased security and improvements to some functions, as well as new applications and design improvements. At first glance, the Dark Mode will catch your eye, which changes the white parts of the systems to dark, giving your Mac a touch of luxury. We will also be able to enjoy dynamic wallpapers that will change on the Mac desktop depending on the time of day. 

Last year, the Mac App Store was slightly forgotten and "only" the App Store received a redesign in iOS 11. This year, however, this rest Apple he also fixed and completely "overhauled" the application store for Macs. It now has a more modern feel and overall fits into the design that Apple trying to use everywhere. In the new App Store, you will find various articles about applications or editor's picks, as well as videos and, of course, previews. However, we know all this from iOS as well, so this news on Macs probably won't surprise us too much.

The Desktop has also received a nice upgrade, which is now able to put individual files on it into sets or, if you like, stacks, which is also slightly reminiscent of the novelty from iOS 12. The screenshots also received a significant upgrade, which also came close to those from iOS 12. because you can look forward to a preview of the image in the bottom corner of the screen, which we know from iPhones or iPads. The option of a new shortcut Shift + Command + 5 has also been added, after using which a simple editor for screenshots with the option of recording the screen will be launched. But, for example, even such a foundation as the Finder has been redesigned. The latter now offers a display in the form of a gallery with previews of individual files, which can save a lot of time when working.

It is also worth mentioning the new applications Home, Dictaphone and Actions or improvements to FaceTime, which will soon support group calls for up to 32 people.

How to update:

As always, installing the update is very simple. However, we recommend that you back up important files before it, which will avoid any problems that might arise during the update. You can use either Time Machine or, of course, iCloud or other cloud storage, to which you can upload the most important files, or even an external drive.

After that, all you have to do is visit the Mac App Store, where the update should appear in the Updates tab. Although it should be updated Apple released at 19 p.m., it may take a few minutes for it to appear in the App Store, and its download may also be slower. When the update is downloaded, just follow the instructions on the Mac screen and wait.
