iOS 10

The iOS 10 operating system was unveiled in mid-2016 and released to the public exactly three months later alongside the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Besides these, it was compatible with iPhone 6S Plus, 6S, 6 Plus, 6, 5S, 5C, 5 and SE (1st generation), iPad 4th generation, iPad Air and Air 2, iPad (2017), iPad mini 2-4 and iPad Pro and iPod touch 6th generation. Among other things, the system came with new functions for some applications – the Messages application got new smileys, iMessage extended functionality for third parties, Apple Redesigned interface Maps and other third-party features, Photos now allows algorithmic media search and sorting (Apple it calls this feature memories) and the Siri voice assistant is now compatible with requests from third-party apps, such as launching exercise apps, sending instant messages, using Uber and Lyft apps, or using payment functions. iOS 10 is the last version of iOS that supports 32-bit devices and apps. Version 10.3 introduced a new file system called APFS (Apple File System).
