iOS 18

In September 2024, we expect the release of the public version of the operating system iOS 18, the developer beta version should be available for download right after WWDC in June. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggested that iOS 18 could be a "relatively ground-breaking" software update with "significant new features and design," but concrete details are few and far between.

iOS 18 sideloading support

Before the launch of iOS 17, there were rumors that Apple will introduce sideloading in Europe due to European Union regulations. That hasn't happened yet, so it's possible Apple will make this change instead in iOS 18. Sideloading will allow iPhone users in Europe to install apps outside of the App Store using alternative app store options. Apple plans to introduce sideloading only in the European Union, purely with regard to the aforementioned regulations.

iOS 18 Date of publication

iOS 18 it will be introduced at the worldwide developer conference in June 2024. After the WWDC conference, it will be iOS 18 made available to developers for testing purposes and a public beta will likely be released sometime in July. After the beta testing period it will iOS 18 launched in September 2024 alongside the new iPhones.
