For fans of Italian cuisine, Don Alfonso 1890 in Macau should be on your bucket list. The restaurant offers a dining atmosphere enriched with Versace elements, creating a luxurious and memorable experience.
The dining establishment within the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau hosted the MICHELIN Star Table in October 2024, offering a coveted dining experience for gourmands. This prestigious event featured three top Italian chefs who showcased their deep appreciation for Italian culinary traditions, blending them with modern twists, and providing guests with an unforgettable culinary journey.
Don Alfonso 1890 exudes Versace’s luxury with a terrazzo floor inspired by the Villa on Lake Como, bespoke furniture, and Rosenthal x Versace tableware featuring the Asian Dream motif. The walls display paintings from Versace’s Palace and the vibrant Barocco pattern, creating an immersive and opulent atmosphere.
Surrounded by Versace’s signature Baroque patterns and sumptuous gold and red tones of Don Alfonso 1890, the chefs presented an extravagant five-course lunch and an elaborate six-course dinner during the MICHELIN Star Table.
Chef Ernesto Iaccarino from the original Don Alfonso 1890 in Lavello worked with Chef Federico Pucci from the MICHELIN Selected restaurant Don Alfonso 1890, along with chef Andrea Migliaccio of the two-MICHELIN starred L’Olivo near Capri, Italy. They came together to present a feast that honoured the flavours of southern Italy.
Among the dishes at this MICHELIN Star Table was the Brittany blue lobster. Slow-cooked at a low temperature to preserve its texture and flavours, the delicacy’s saline character was complemented by seasonal mushrooms, freshly shaved truffles, and potato foam.
The lemon-scented tagliolini was L’Olivo’s signature dish. Creamy burrata brought sharp relief to the tangy pasta, which was accented by sweet red prawns, sea asparagus, and oyster leaf. It was bright, captivatingly fragrant, and captured the essence of Capri right here at Don Alfonso 1890.
The MICHELIN Star Table concluded with the Don Alfonso 1890’s signature tiramisu, which was remixed into a semifreddo. Mascarpone, coffee-soaked ladyfingers was semi-frozen to coax out its delicate flavours, followed by a dusting of bitter cacao powder that contrasted wonderfully with the rich dessert.
