I need quiet to focus, but some of the team like a bit of background ambient noise. It's easier for someone to put on headphones and put a bit of background noise on than to block out the sound of 5 phone calls and a radio.

A collaborative environment is much better than forcing change on someone. If they feel included in the decision they will most likely help to educate and encourage others as well!

But include them in the research process if at all possible. People love helping other people especially if they feel included in the process. Finding a common ground is important here so they retain the information.

There are several ways to tactfully raise awareness about any issue. Remember there are likely many case studies and articles on the same issues you are dealing with. Make sure to do your research and often they also give a solution that worked for them so you are not reinventing the wheel. I have the privilege of traveling to many factories and really they all have the SAME experiences with employees and they ALL think theirs is the only one with issues.
