I try to connect with my staff on human levels as often as possible through regular check-ins. Fostering personal growth increases engagement and happiness so it is important to help staff pursue growth. Finally, having a results based approach enables staff to be flexible in their time as long as requirements are met.

Providing them with support by learning about their plans for personal development and how to balance their career and personal goals. Helping them by allocating their working hours for their learning activities. Make sure they have the resources they need, such as a flexible work schedule and time off to attend seminars and conferences. Giving them constructive feedback in order to support their attempts to strike a balance between their personal and professional development. Last but not least, encourage candid communication to share both their successes as well as their hurdles in their journey.

Fostering a supportive culture to listen and understand the challenges a team member is facing, regular check-ins to understand each team members' goal both professionally and personally to help them achieve both, encouraging open communication and celebrating work-life balance by highlighting their achievements and inspiring others are a few means to promote a supportive work culture for personal development. In a gist, trying to understand where a team member stands and motivating them to towards their professional goals without compromising on personal goals is the key.
