If you use data vault methodology, the best book of course is Building A Scalable Data Warehouse with Data Vault 2.0. by Dan Linstedt and Michael Olschimke. Ralph is the inventor of dimensional modelling and Dan is the inventor of Data Vault, so they are both the authorities in the subject. However, we should never forget the principles of data warehousing, which was first written by Bill Inmon in 1992 in his book Building A Data Warehouse.
