Every IT member, System Administrators, Developers, Cloud Administrators, and also Cybersecurity Analysts, need to enhance their expertise about topics like micro segmentation, SDWAN, SDLAN, security groups for cloud architectures, secure and not secure network protocols and security baselines for networking, and also proactively start investigating about advance security controls like NAC, DDoS protection, NGFW, WAF, SWG, ZTNA, SASE, and others, so we can try to stop the misconception that with having a "Firewall" is enough to protect our corporate network.

There are a lot of courses out there. Sometimes it’s confusing. I am not a technologist yet I am in a cyber security leadership role. I sometimes feel like the least knowledgeable person in the room. That’s ok. I am there to facilitate, influence, join the dots, find solutions and engage the most clever technological resources in our business. It’s not about being a technologist. It’s about knowing who to bring in the room and pushing hard until the best and right outcome is achieved.

These challenges require security managers and their teams to concentrate their efforts on "what is most valuable to the company" (infrastructure, business applications, authentication, certain partners, etc.).
