Alle Quellen sind begrenzt. Egal ob Landfläche, Wasser oder irgend welche Metalle. Bei den Auswirkungen und Zielkonflikten sollte besser differenziert werden. Bei Nutzpflanzen kommt es welche teile man ggf. verwendet. Bei Tierdung gilt, dass dieser weitestgehend ein Nebenprodukt der Stallhaltung von Nutztieren ist. Diese zu füttern erfordert ebenfalls wiederum viel Fläche. Bei einer Umstellung der Ernährungsgewohnheiten schwankt das Angebot an Tierdung. Bei einer Verringerung der Anbauflächen für Futtermittel wäre eine Umstellung auf die stoffliche Nutzung von Biomasse möglich. Jeder setzt da die Präferenzen aber anders. Die Landfläche konkurriert auch mit Bergbau und Verkehrsinfrastruktur, Industrie und Wohnflächen.

Ich verstehe hier immer noch nicht, warum der Fokus auf Bioenergie liegt. Photosynthese hat einen schlechten Wirkungsgrad 1.5 %. Dann lieber gleich Photovoltaik auf's Feld setzen und darunter Weidefläche, Gemüsefeld oder Naturschutzgebiet oder anderes anlegen. Dann hat man Strom und muss den noch irgendwie speichern. Lassen wir fossile Rohstoffe wie Öl und Gas im Boden brauchen wir Alternative zu Erdöl basierten Produkten. Das kann die direkte Nutzung darstellen: Bauholz, Hanfkleidung, Strohisolation.. Oder man produziert auf Biomasse Plattformchemikalien und kann daraus die gleichen Produkte herstellen, wie wir schon kennen. Dazu gibt's viele verschiedene Verfahren. Eins ist die Herstellung von Polymilchsäure. Ein Polymer.

Wenn man Bioremediation etwas weiter versteht, kann man damit den Entzug von CO2 als "schädlichen" Stoff aus der Atmosphäre verstehen. Ich weiß nicht, ob das im Text schon so gemeint ist. Photosynthese ist im Vergleich zur direct air capture vermutlich der umweltschonendere Prozesse, um CO2 aus der Atmosphäre zu entziehen und irgendwie zu lagern. Das ist immer mit einen Eingriff in die Natur verbunden, wie etwa dem fällen eines Baumes. Baut man daraus ein Blockhaus, welches 100 Jahre übersteht, hat man damit CO2 gebunden. Auf der freien Fläche kann ein neuer Baum wachsen. Der wiederum CO2 speichert. Da muss man eine Balance finden. Und die liegt darin die ökologische Leistung nicht für Blödsinn zu verschwenden.
