It could be as small as figuring out a way to recycle the food waste or to get rid of the smell which is caused under the sink most of the times. The problems could be related to health, education or human rights. The problem one faces oneself is more likely to be solved properly.Once we figure out the problem we can think of multiple possible ways to solve it. As first step identifying thereal problem in your surroundings and then figuring out a solution would be a way to go!

The quickest place to receive ideas is within the government frameworks of what they want to solve. *The EU has mandated that companies file a report each year showing how they have become more sustainable. *The City of London has 5 published sustainable concerns (including reducing disposable coffee cups). * Canada also has objectives. These countries have created a hackathon for entrepreneurs to create a company that solves the crises they've addressed. Finding the area to target is simple (and likely comes with grants)!

The best way to address this question is to set up a social enterprise which seeks to address these issues as the central focus to its business model. By using a model of business such as a social enterprise/cooperative you make solving these issues the true mission rather than having the demands of social/environmental value vs shareholder profit pitted against one another. The challenge that we have is finding the right finance that supports this business model more effectively and greater understanding of how the social enterprise model can be applied to virtually any problem so long as there is a potential market to sustain a business.

Too many people are pushing back on ESG because they don't know how to make it profitable. According to extensive research, this is more a problem of leadership competencies than ESG being a problem. Too many leaders have been taught to lead by 'best practices' (things that possibly worked in the past - but probably didn't). What leaders don't learn is to be entrepreneurial - to be curious, question, experiment, and evolve. If everyone - not only leaders - learned more entrepreneurial skills, not only would we have significantly more success with sustainability, but most other things as well.
