So either if a company is helping you with an Outplacement program or you are looking for a change, use the tools and support they give you to extend your network, connect with hiring managers and TA areas, upgrade your resume and Linkedin page and upgrade your interviewing skills.

If they promise to find you a job be wary! If they tell you they’ll find you a job fast be wary! Credible outplacement companies will use qualified career development professionals who will never make these claims. Look instead for career professionals who will - help you identify the RIGHT next role - build your skills and confidence to navigate the job market in ways that put you on the right path and avoid time wasting - give you the practical support and tools you need - be straight with you!

Never, never, never expect the outplacement firm to get you a job. That's not their job. Their job is to help you put a resume together, tell you what to do with it, and encourage you to get a job, while reducing the prospect of lawsuits against your employer, who hired them.
