Misalignment derives into two types 1. Axial 2. Radial Normally a typical belt conveyors lying on 3 sets of roller apart from head pulley,tail pulley, bend pulley etc. Belt conveyors driven by head pulley attached with gearbox, coupling, electric motor. There are various types of components attached with belt conveyors. While drive pulley pulled the belt, it ran with 2 idler roller at the side and one in the middle.there are return idler ,while return the belt it lies on return roller. The sets of 3 idler roller with the stand makes angle of travel ,it should have been maintained throught the travel, too make belt straight the angle need to be maintained. There sway idler, which can make the belt straight for the minor sway.
