Before deciding to create a hybrid event determine if it needs to have a virtual component and what about the event will benefit from being virtual. One obvious benefit is being able to bring in remote speakers and experts for whom traveling to the event would take too much of their time and cost everyone a lot of money. Another benefit is finding additional audiences who might benefit from the experience. This is the often overlooked remote audience. Often consideration is just given to people who might have attended under different circumstance but have some form of conflict which prevents them from being there. By identifying other potential participants, you are creating additional resources.
