Managing expectations. Most team players assume that team will amicably work together to achieve certain goals, however, my experience has taught me differently. While it's easy to assume that a team mate has your back in certain tasks, managing expectations has become the new norm, setting boundaries and ensuring that all the members understand their roles and what is expected of them. As team leader, more often you have to be clear in setting the boundaries and taking the lead in the expectations set to the team, understanding of every aspect of the different roles and assignments to each individual. This helps in creating boundaries and also allowing the team to maintain focus and achieve success.
