I am experiencing that employees in the GMP field have been trained for decades to blindly follow written procedures. As mostly additional steps and tasks are being added to those written procedures, often a process of manufacturing or quality testing has transformed into overly complicated tasks that are prone to errors. I think it is important to take a step back, reevaluating regulatory requirements and logical needs. Hiring qualified personal and teaching and trusting them to be competent for evaluating risks while performing their daily tasks will strengthen them to take the courage to lean out complicated processes. This simplification will reduce deviations and get companies prepared for future growth.

And Regular Audits is one of the best tools for that; Conduct regular internal audits to identify gaps in GMP implementation and make necessary adjustments. This is the key, simply put. If quality is built in to your culture, it will be built in to your products as well. If you produce consistently high quality products, you can demand a premium. Not only in price tags, but in expectations of performance within the organization. If quality is a culture, then integrity isn’t something that’s merely valuable, it’s required. Think of brands like Toyota and Honda. Quality is part of their culture. This is evidenced by the consistent quality of their products. Accordingly, you may expect to pay more for their products in some cases. But you will know exactly what you are getting: A high quality product because it’s not an optional metric for these companies.

I really agree with this, and I'd like to share some points that can be helpful in implementing a GMP culture: 1. Top-Down Support: Leadership must demonstrate a clear commitment to GMP. 2. Role-Specific Training: Provide specialized training based on each employee’s role. 3. Encourage Ownership: Make every employee responsible for upholding GMP in their specific role. 4. 5S Methodology: Apply the 5S system (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to create an organized, clean, and efficient working environment that supports GMP principles. 5. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop clear, concise, and accessible SOPs for all GMP-related activities. Employees should be trained on them.
