Consistency in accountability is the name of the game. Leaders' roles are to provide support and training, follow up on actionable items, and acknowledge and celebrate success. Then keep going!

Relentless pursuit of continuous improvement. Relentless. Momentum is maintained when the philosophy over “ever better” is believed in at the highest levels of the organization and “worn” by its leaders, both formal and informal. Speed bumps should be expected, not avoided. Just keep going. The most important element to maintain momentum is to reduce friction, ie, just keep going :) Make it fun. Make it engaging. Bring the energy and DO NOT GET BORED. Celebrate the wins and the learning opportunities. Invest in the folks that hit the speed bumps in stride and learn which tomatoes to dodge and which ones catch and manage. Just. Keep. Going.

In my experience, "total participation" is the key to your Kaizen program. And total participation is only possible in top-down approach when the leadership empowers and welcomes ideas for greatness. Take one step further and make your Kaizen program, "an event approach"..... - Announce it on organizational level that your voice will be heared and appreciated. - Dedicate change agents to drive the change - Announce a day in the month "Kaizen Day", when representatives from all teams would present their ideas in the presence of leadership team - A healthy competition will be held - Winning teams will be awarded Maintain and sustain the momentum through deliberate and consistent event approach.
