One thing I found helpful is bringing the Product Owner/Super User/Voice of the customer to the table when we are defining the scope and the goals not only at the beginning at pre-defined intervals to ensure we are moving towards the delivery of business value iteratively. I wouldn't worry about the scope creep or delivery due date as long as the sponsors recognize the priority, value delivered and money spent has the ROI. The communication with the stakeholders from the inception phase and all the way thru is the secret of success on any initiative

It's important to recognize that you will rarely define all the requires 100% correctly upfront. Part of the reason Agile has become so popular is that it delivers value iteratively. This helps de-risk your project by allowing stakeholders to test and react to features mid-project, preventing massive rework when misalignment is discovered during testing. Bring your stakeholders and users into the process early and make them full partners. Don't accept requirements "thrown over the wall." Help your stakeholders figure out what they really want.

For new software development, I have found that having solid participation throughout the project by those who will actually use the new system is critical. These users are vital suppliers of information on what will or won't work, what is most productive, and what is best fitted to how they need to do their work as users.

Constant development is not key to success if the product is in specs. Would recommend the feedback for new development and version lifesycle planning. Feedback is tricky when it is subjective and not related to a measurable data. There fore all feed back should be able to set in measurable format before any decision making for adding resources to develop or make any new change requests. Unless it has a clear ROI impact which can be measured. I dont mean that the feedback is nonsense but it should be adjusted for valued format for next steps. Usability example should be measured with user questionairs after several feedbacks it needs improving. Many times reported bad usability is only a bad symptom from something else in the engine bay.

"have they worked together before", "do they have conflicting characters in the team", "whats the individual ambitions versus the team ambition" etc. Team normally go through a "norming", "forming", "storming" cycle -and at times also re-itterate that cycle. Being aware of that helps decide what you can offer the team at the various fases of it "growing up". Tools like DISC profiles help to gain a better understanding for team members in their engagement with others.

Respect for other people and their ideas and opinions is a critical factor in project success. This kind of respect is actually an important motivation factor for all project participants.

For the project's PM, I believe that special attention to this should be given by the PM to this issue throughout the entire project.

Define clear goals and the must have output on every of your project and communicate, gather feedback and re-define if necessary and re-communicate, until you have the ultimate acceptance over the requirement/goals.
