El mejor camino que tiene una junta directiva para medir el compromiso de sus empleados con la sostenibilidad es incluirla dentro del plan estratégico organizacional con metricas claras, posteriormente construir un reporte de sostenibilidad conforme a estandares internacionales de la mano con sus trabajadores y pasar inmediatamente a certificar sus procesos de sostenibilidad con el fin de asegurar por medio de un tercero idoneo el cumplimiento de lo escrito en el reporte de sostenibilidad y lo trazado en la estrategia organizacional.

Uno de los mejores mecanismos para que la junta directiva pueda evaluar el compromiso de los empleados con el desempeño socialmente responsable en la organización es a través de los informes de divulgación de sostenibilidad. Si bien estos informes suelen ser anuales, también existen casos de empresas que establecen indicadores de seguimiento trimestrales o semestrales, lo cual permite un mayor y mejor involucramiento de los miembros de la junta directiva.

Very often the board is far removed from the employee experience and hardly ever engages with them directly. It's also important that the company engage experts in the field and have the board participate in such discussions and events. All this is predicated on the board members being fully engaged and committed to having an engaged staff.

For me, it all begins with the strategic mapping exercise. CSR/ESG are not add-ons. They are deliberate actions that come from your strategy. This means that Board and management together need to craft the strategy. I am a firm supporter of the balanced scorecard, modified, to address the unique needs of each company. It keeps the big picture on the table. Now that ESG (including CSR) is the new buzz phrase and has its strong link to sustainability, companies will soon begin to connect the dots. Auditors are now required to report on sustainability indicators linked to ESG in their auditor exercise. It is not business as usual, folks.

Ce qui permettrait à l'entreprise d'être pro-active et anticiper les éventuels changements qui pourraient influencer sa politique RSE et de facto, toute l'organisation.

Considering that emailing remains one of the most important channels of communication I would encourage the CEO of the company to regularly make use of a format that can be sent the same day of the week at the same time on such updates. It seems not that innovative but often we prioritize emails coming from the boss on top of the others. The board would probably do the same. An alternative to test could be sending a letter at home (we rarely receive post these days and having a nice card - handwritten - might be something special to test). The letter could be written all the time by a different employee representing also the internal value of diversity and inclusion by sharing a short Bio of the employees.

Très souvent, des entreprises se perdent et sont obligées de faire appel à des experts.....La composition du rapport extra financier devrait être simplifié en mettant en première partie le rapport RSE et en seconde partie l'extra-financier pour informer tout le conseil d'administration sur l'amont et l'aval de cette démarche.
