about my position in site, im civil foreman, but before starting the shift i make a toolbox talk for my team about the hazards they have in activity, so we prepare the methode of statement and signing the permit to work and spa, provided all ppe for the team, checking the area they have activity, when the work started all time i check avancement of the progress dont forget safety breifing for all workers .

of course before starting the shift i make for all my team tool box talk regarding any topic for them when the work started i make also more safety breifing for my team or subcontractor or any workers in my area when i check any activity and i see the mor hazard, i stop the activity and i do stappage the work paper signed by me and section head and safety officer or supervisor .

Don't make it boring or death by PowerPoint! Try and make the education as interactive as possible. Also know the level you're educating at, not everyone learns at the same pace or in the same manner so consider the room. Think about the time of delivery also - perhaps Monday morning first thing sounds good but people are getting back into the working week after the weekend and might not have warmed up just yet - and at the opposite end of the week perhaps 4pm on a Friday is not the best time when people want to get away on time for the weekend!

about my position, im civil foreman, but in my campany we have a more trainer for doing the indiction before coming to site. if i have a working at height or confined space activities i send all my team for doing training in training office before started the avtivity. all riggers in my area have traning and abillitation. whatchman and flagman have also training before coming to site. when we have a insident i call immedialtely the ambillance also we stopped the activity immediately, we making a first aid for the worker, we make also the investigation and assement for his gang leader and all the team with a safety supervisor and oficcers.

Lessons learned should be implemented at all levels and not just at the top hierarchy of a project. When all levels are engaged with about what has been good, bad and ugly and this information is shared then improvements can be made across the board.

when we have update by section head or site engineer about a visite or audit to our area; the first ischo i do : toolbox talk to my team for provided all ppe. working normally without any high pressure. prepare all documentation for the visit or audit team . make watering in all area prepare the hassekeppers team only for cleaning the area. arrengemet of the matierials.

"Do as I say and not as I do" does not wash! Everyone needs to understand their importance of leading by example because we all influence each other on a daily basis. Also leading by example may be a lower level employee calling out a higher level employee for noticing they have not done something appropriately, this could be as simple as highlighting they don't have their hi vis vest on before stepping out onto site - they simply may have forgotten, or they thought they didn't need it. These highlights wherever they come from should be accepted with open arms. The better we communicate the better we all become.
