* Start by explaining the purpose of the test. What was the question you were trying to answer? Why was it important to answer this question? * Explain the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis. What were you assuming to be true? What were you hoping to prove? * Describe the data you used and how you analyzed it. What statistical test did you use? What were the results of the test? * Interpret the results of the test. What do the results mean? Do they support the null hypothesis or the alternative hypothesis? * Discuss the implications of the results. What are the next steps? What should the client do with this information? * Make recommendations based on findings. What should the client do to improve their business?

It depends upon your audience. Executives tend to consider what is actionable, while technical people are more focused on validation and in what ways. I have University of California PhD's in Engineer- ing and Organizational Decision-Making to accomodate both groups.

On top of the first contribution in this context, which is very well explained, it is important whom is addressed with the presentation. Having prepared as noted above, I would add an intrductive executive summary and simple simulations of possible results to show based on alternative hypotheses. More than the content of the hypothesis it is the context that sets the agenda to be addressed. Hypothesis is about assumptions and the testing is about questioning those assumptions. You will need to frame the market scope for which you are framing context of the hypothesis so that a common understanding of the scope of problems or opportunities is understood. Then, with intention present the findings with the specific audience or levels of audience in mind and within the context of their business ecosystem. Otherwise, the data is not actionable because the customer will not trust that you understand the bigger picture while applying focused tools and methods.

Interpret the effect size measures in the context of your research question to determine the practical significance of the findings. Highlight any consistent patterns or similarities across the different hypotheses or scenarios tested. Discuss any findings that support a shared trend or relationship. Explain the factors that contributed to these differences and discuss their implications. This helps to provide a comprehensive understanding of the nuances and complexities of the data. Provide recommendations for future research to address the limitations and expand upon the current findings. Suggest alternative approaches or additional data sources that could strengthen the conclusions drawn from the analysis.

One technique that has worked well for me is a comparison to "conventional wisdom." Operating assumptions (both implicit and explicit) often turn out to be wrong. Hence the comparison. Obviously, must support the new view with credible findings.

Consider using visualization tools during this step. They can help clarify the relationships between the test results and the goals, and can also highlight the strength of those connections.

While it is critical to provide context, discuss the findings and talk about actionable recommendations, it is also important to explain the reasons and the methods we, the consultants, used to reach those conclusions. This allows the Executives to know the structured problem solving approach that we undertook, as well as give confidence to our research and findings.

Important to understand the client and assess their worldview. If the client is a positivist then presenting social science type findings will be mumbo jumbo and vice versa.

Change is most effective when owned by the Client. It's essential to involve users from the outset so they have a sense of ownership and responsibility in ensuring that the project is successful.
