How do you showcase your invoicing creativity and innovation in your portfolio?

I find that setting the expectation with the client on what information they need included on the invoice or in the back up documentation, when applicable, streamlines the entire process. It makes the invoice easy to review and eliminates back and forth on questions or revisions which always cause payment delays.

In my own experience, Invoice must be: 1. Timely, set a cut-off especially if you have massive client-base 2. Set your CRM to mass-email outstanding invoice to your existing clients 3. If the invoice is unsettled 3-5 days after due date, trigger your CRM to send 1st reminder 4. If after multiple reminders has been set, it would be best if you can suspend your client's account, to avoid stacking potential bad debts

To build the trust with the customers, you need to make sure that any invoice will be issued only once to deliver the goods and services as well as having proof of delivery

Communicate to the customers any changes in prices days before it take effect . These will help them align accordingly and eliminate adjustments in invoices due to price differences that may delay payments.

Follow the purchase order received from customer, and provide all the necessary information about the product, its design, quantity etc. Your NTN if requisite by regulatory bodies in your area. appropriately showing dates, amount etc.

Ensure that the invoices are easy understood by people not in your industry. Avoid using abbreviations or obscure industry terms. Remain descriptive yet concise.

While I can understand that you may want to showcase your design skills on your invoice, I would recommend keeping the main body of the invoice (the bit with the important details on) clear and concise in an easy to read font so that your customer isn’t distracted from the purpose of the invoice…. That being your request for payment.

I fully agree that invoice design is important but what is more important are the details customers needs and who accurate those details Its not worth to have nice designed invoice but with wrong details or details which not in line with customer’s requirements

In being creative, I believe in creating invoice templates that are easy to understand by ensuring all items, such as quantity, item or service and dollar amount are visible and clear on the invoice.

Designing an invoice that stands out can help leave a positive impression on your clients. Make sure branding is clearly reflected by incorporating your logo, color scheme, and font style to reinforce your brand. Organize the invoice elements logically, such as placing the client's information, invoice number, date, and due date prominently. Utilize white space to avoid clutter and create a clean, modern look. Add visual elements such as subtle background pattern of texture to give the invoice a unique touch. Use color to draw attention to important details like the total amount due or any outstanding balance. Include professional footer such as contact information, website, and social media links. Include QR code. Save your invoice as pdf.

Invoices should be prepared at the end of specific time period as agreed may be monthly weekly or on daily basis! Also the invoices should be sent to the clients on time and get their written acknowledgement of receipt of the invoices!

You may have clients trading with different currency especially in International companies. In this case, you have to update your system according to accept the required currency. Also, you need to update the rates atleast at the beginning of every month.

Also just issuing an invoice is a good form of professionalism and it is important for record keeping both for clients and the company
