Being agile and responsive as a change manager means recognising that a change plan is not a fixed contract but a living document, open to revision for the project's health. Failure to adapt can lead to stakeholder disengagement, missed deadlines, or worse, total project derailment.

Avoid sugar coating about the benefits but to always assess the expectation of others. Its good to share the good thing that will happen in future, but we also need to set the expectation which adjusting is also beneficial

One thing I have found helpful is to have more tailored change and Comms plans. Also to Create avatars of employees. HBDI is also a helpful tool to overlay how people may respond to change and group them accordingly.
