How would you handle opposition from influential figures within the community towards your change efforts?

Una persona influyente, quien siempre tiene la razón o ha vendido muy buenas ideas, desaprender, validar a otros y salir de zona de confort lo puede poner nervioso por el riesgo de perder autoridad, por esa razón mi consejo para manejar la oposición al cambio: escucha activamente y valida las preocupaciones de la persona. Comunica con transparencia los beneficios y aborda malentendidos. Involúcralos en el proceso, ofreciendo apoyo y capacitación. Destaca oportunidades de crecimiento y reconoce sus contribuciones pasadas. Monitorea el progreso, brinda retroalimentación y sé paciente. Mantén la calma frente a reacciones defensivas y enfócate en objetivos comunes. Así, se reduce la resistencia y se fomenta un ambiente positivo y colaborativo.

Movimentos de mudança são sempre desafiadores, sejam de processos ou de pessoas. As divergências de opiniões são importantes, pois trazem perspectivas diferentes diante da temática. Exercitar a escuta ativa para analisar as motivações e as influências daquela opinião são práticas essenciais para a busca de um denominador comum.

I fully agree, and with that understanding we need to improve on how we solicit feedback from all stakeholders, especially the grass roots community members where policies and actions have the most impact. We must be open to active and intentional listening, being able to tolerate uncomfortable conversations and build consensus before proceeding. Change is hard but we can move steadily forward if we elevate all voices and opinions when making decisions that affect our communities.

I would carefully consider the perspectives of influential figures, respecting their positions and contributions. By identifying their core concerns and motivations, I would engage them with relevant examples and success stories. Including them in the planning process, openly sharing data and potential benefits, and starting with small, demonstrative initiatives would help build trust and illustrate the positive outcomes of the change, securing their support.

Poner en contexto la necesidad de un cambio. La incertidumbre suele ser el stopper de cualquier cambio y en este caso, si necesitamos que las personas influyentes o decisoras lo apoyen, deben tener toda la información necesaria: 1- ¿Por qué es necesario el cambio en la organización? 2- ¿Qué pasaría si no se hace el cambio? 3- ¿Cómo debe hacerse? 4- ¿Cual sería el rol de esa persona influyente o decisora? Cualquier implementación de cambios en la organización, debemos buscar el "sponsor" principal, que idealmente debería ser la figura de más rango en la estructura y "sponsores" por procesos, que serían las figuras más relevantes de aquellas fases o cambios necesarios. Todo el mundo debe sentirse parte del cambio y asumir que es necesario

Sin este conocimiento será casi imposible encontrar un punto de negociación o conciliación pero una vez descubierto, el acuerdo llegará más fácilmente.

Algo útil que he visto en las organizaciones saludables, es el trabajo en equipo. Si las áreas que la conforman, no trabajan de manera coordinada, no se alcanzan metas. El trabajo mancomunado contribuye para que la gestión del cambio cree menos resistencia.

I think the first thing you need to figure out is from where people are coming as they speak their experiences. I believe in my bones that NAMI, Big pHARMa and TAC are absolutely axis’s of evil and need to be defunded. What I will also tell you is, I get why parents turn to them believing everything they are told by them because of what the media tells them about what their child will become once dxed. We need to remember that our relationship with people are the vehicle for change. How we present that argument and how much we validate their feelings will effect that change.

Claramente, ter uma opinião de entidades influentes contribui para adaptar a estratégia de implementação, para melhoria da atividade e para que o público alvo se identifique com a nova implementação. Ajuda também aos técnicos de implementação a reflectir sobre questões referentes ao público alvo, sobre técnicas de implementação e até mesmo sobre a localidade onde implementam as atividades.
