When I was transitioning from the Army to civilian life after 20 years of service, I was in a panic. So, knowing that I had many friends and mentors before me that made that same transition helped. And so on, I also started networking with people locally where I was moving too, through those same connections, to assist with understanding what to expect in my new surroundings. Having those mentors made the transition easier, and when going through a major life change I would recommend to seek out a mentor for guidance and assistance.

Life will always try to knock you around, and like in boxing you got to duck and dodge and sway around the punches, sometimes you will be hit. More often than not you will duck around the punches though. And eventually that match will be over. Now here's the good news, with enough of those matches, you will have learned how to box, and will eventually be the one hitting, gaining ground. So were you boxing before or training? Perspective!
