Unless you previously completed an Event Management certification, you should enrol in an Event Management program. As an employee there are other people to back you up and catch missteps. When you are sn entrepreneur, the buck stops with you. Event Management is a fabulous, but very stressful profession. It's best to understand best practices for events and ensure you are fully qualified. In addition, you would need business administration skills. Later you may hire other people for these jobs but you will always need to understand your cash flow.

Transitioning from being an employee to an entrepreneur in the live events industry requires courage, determination, and strategic planning. As I have completed my graduation in Event Management I will definitely suggest going ahead and complete a degree or a diploma in the industry, as this helps in understanding the core knowledge of the concept and difficulties one faces while hosting and organizing a live event.

Understand that there may be days which lead you far from your original passion: events. When you start on the entrepreneurial journey you have to be ready for ultimate highs and crashing lows. It is all part of the journey. Ask for help, learn from those who have led the way before you. If you are keen, just start. You won’t have all the answers and you will make mistakes. That is all part of the journey.

This is a Journey which I am myself executing right now, what I have learned is having previous brand relations helps a lot whenever you have a new live event to execute, Previous vendors, Event professionals and venue contact & Artist managers can be very useful. At the end of the day its your execution strategy and cost management skills which will get your boat sailed !
