What do you do if your animation project fails?

I come to LinkedIn and spend my money, surely that will fix my project! LinkedIn, you disgusting money making scheme... And yet you keep asking me to contribute! 😂😂

Accepting this failure and knowing where we went wrong is crucial. The key is not to repeat the same mistakes next time. We shouldn't dwell on the same cycle of failure or let its shadow linger. Moving on to the next project is what matters most.

Once you've accepted the reality of the situation, it's time to dig into the feedback. I've found that feedback, even if it's hard to swallow, is incredibly valuable. It gives you insights into what worked and what didn't, helping you pinpoint areas for improvement. Typically, animation videos are created through several basic steps. First, it involves analyzing the data provided by the customer, followed by understanding the overall art direction and the identity of the work. Then, the process proceeds to sketching, creating a blockout, refining it through resampling and enhancing the splines to give it more life, and finally polishing it before rendering. Following these steps ensures that the job is completed effectively. Additionally, revisiting any of these steps for a second attempt can certainly improve the outcome. Therefore, taking a step back and restarting can undoubtedly lead to a better result.

Every project fails if doesn't you're not doing it correctly. The beautiful thing about design is it's not rocket science. Start over and learn from failed experiments.

Depends how you define “failure” if you actually got to make the project, that’s a success. If you got to make it to your liking, that’s a bigger success. If not enough people seeing it, or it not making enough money makes it a “failure” in your mind, so be it. But I think the triumph of getting it made, and fighting to make it up to your standards are more important and ultimately more gratifying factors to consider. If you succeeded there, then you succeeded. The rest is just a matter of how much you succeeded.
