What do you do if your attempts at business coaching result in failure?

Particularly if a particular approach hasn't resonated with the client, I reflect on how I can adapt my approach to better meet their needs.

Were my goals clear when hiring the coach? Did I hire the right coach who has expertise with my kind of business? Did the coach's values align with mine? How was communication between me and the coach? Did I express myself openly? Were my expectations realistic? Did I understand coaching as a collaborative effort? Did I commit fully to the coaching process, actively participating and following through on tasks? Was there a feedback mechanism during coaching? Did I track my progress? Did I see tangible improvements in my business? Was I open to adapting based on the coach's guidance? Or did I resist change? How am I reflecting on the failure? Am I taking responsibility and learning from it for future coaching engagements?

Was bedeutet scheitern? Der Prozess lief anders als erwartet... ? Die Ziele wurden nicht erreicht... ? Die Erwartungen nicht erfüllt... ? Vor der Festlegung, sollte der Begriff definiert werden. Es gibt viele Faktoren, die den Coaching-Prozess beeinflussen können. Diese sollten angemessen reflektiert werden. Wichtig ist hierbei auch, ob es vielleicht bereits im Vorfeld zu falschen Erwartungen oder zu hoch angesetzten Zielen kam. Darüber hinaus sollten im Coaching-Prozess Ziele, Erwartungen oder auch Kursänderungen offen kommuniziert werden...

Es gilt nach jedem Coaching den Prozess & die Ergebnisse zu überprüfen & zu evaluieren. Das Feedback des Coachees ist dabei von großer Bedeutung. Sowohl im Bezug auf die positiven als auch negativen Aspekte. Der Coach sollte dafür einen passenden Rahmen schaffen & dafür sorgen, dass er ein ehrliches und offenes Feedback erhält.

Ante cualquier fracaso, de cualquier tipo, siempre lo mejor será empezar analizando lo que pudo haber sucedido. En ese sentido recabar información a través de la retroalimentación-feedback será lo mejor a realizar para, posteriormente, trazarse un plan de trabajo. Difficile selon moi d'aller argumenter sur le ressenti de l'autre par rapport à l'accompagnement. Et cela dépend aussi du contexte. Est-ce payé par l'entreprise ou est-ce que le coaché a juste succombé à l'object brillant. En tant que coach même si on peut beau dire qu'on a une obligation de moyens, si nous n'avons pas de résultats, nous ne sommes pas recommandés voir pire on nous fait mauvaises pub. Alors je dirais qu'il faut avoir confiance en soi et en sa stratégie et de continuer à se former tout le temps

Tout à fait d'accord. l'apprentissage en continu. Mais surtout chaque coach doit avoir un coach qui permet de se challenger, d'avancer et aussi de prendre conscience des protocoles en place. D'autant plus que c'est encore plus facile maintenant avec l'IA.

Cela évite de rester dans un fixed mindset où l'on a réponse à tout, à un growth mindset où l'on est capable de faire évoluer sa pratique et d'interroger les bons axes : ecoute active, questionnement, non interprétation etc ...

Supervison oder Intervision, also das Gespräch in einem kollegialen Kreis hilft oft auf die Spur von Fehlern oder Fehleinschätzungen im Coachingprozess zu kommen. Schon allein die Schilderung des Falls hilft den Kontext und die Fragestellung des Coachee besser zu erfassen. Der Impuls des Supervisors oder der intervisierenden Kollegen bringt zusätzlich Ideen. Eigene Hürden und Blinde Flecken werden dadurch schneller erkannt als allein im stillen Kämmerlein mit Selbstcoaching. Um Vertrauen nach einem gescheiterten Coaching wieder aufzubauen, finde ich es wichtig transparent und authentisch zu sein. Ich kommuniziere offen mit dem/der Kund:in über Verbesserungsmaßnahmen und zeige Bereitschaft zur Veränderung. Ich übernehme diese Verantwortung und lerne daraus. Bei allem bewahre ich eine positive empathische Einstellung und nutze diese möglichen Rückschläge als Motivation zur Verbesserung. Im Coaching empfehle ich ein Unterstützungsnetzwerk, das mir Rückhalt bietet und mich ermutigt, weiterzumachen. Ich nutze dieses gerne als Supervision.

The principal here is to realise that business of coaching others about their business is a business after all. One thing is to be astutely aware that so many businesses fail due to so many reasons. However the word failure is very much overrated. Your Business failing to meet expectations doesn't actually mean you have failed, you only received feedback. So what can you do? 1. Become intentional in disapproving limiting beliefs, you didn't fail you learnt. 2. Step up your game you didn't achieve expectations for a reason, find out why ask questions. 3. So it again. Success sometimes lies on a path filled with so many unplanned circumstances Your fairly tale ending depends on your ability to get to the end so you can tell the story.
