Keep the stakeholders—those affected by the problem—involved at all times! Always speak in the language of the primary stakeholders, and ensure end-users are engaged throughout the process so they can see the benefits of implementing AI. This way, your value will not only be in piloting the tests but also in managing the project, aligning business and technical language, and ultimately leading multidisciplinary teams.

A great way to build credibility in AI is to teach what you have learned to others. It is a great way to ensure you understand what you think you do, and it is a great way to contribute to the success of others. You will build a circle of champions. Examples include: 1) Small teaching moments in a corporate meeting with coworkers 2) Guided demo and hands on learning lab in a community of practice meeting 3) Recording and sharing a YouTube video on how to build a solution with AI 4) Coaching someone 1:1 on how to use AI tools/frameworks to achieve a goal 5) Mentoring someone in technology 6) Helping answer questions in tech communities/blogs/forums 7) Sharing your expertise with original content on social media platforms such as LinkedIn

There is a very high probability that leadership or decision makers need to learn more about AI, the opportunities of the technology, the risks and what it means to implement responsible AI, the state of their data estate and more. It is important to tailor the educational journey to each person. You'll need to meet them where they are and use the type of content/engagement that supports how they learn best. This is an excellent opportunity to build yourself into a trusted advisor role with the stakeholders. They will feel vulnerable admitting how little they really know about AI. Offer to engage 1:1 and maintain their confidentiality.

You'll find the innovator and early adopter types will join and engage quite often. They are your most important groups in the beginning of any transformation to learn, adopt and share along the way. They are who will ultimately encourage the early and late majority to follow in the adoption of AI to positively transform the future of work for ourselves and clients.
