First of all determine Why, How and Where it is at risk. This could be a hardware/software or data communications or a personnel issue. Or maybe just a lack of due care at the photocopier! Then amplify and or bring in additional protocols to plug the leaks and secure the data. If necessary apprehend and dismiss culprits in the team responsible for the gross violation of leaking the project data. Make the team aware of the situation such that they are well prepared to manage the risks in the future. Also ensure storage, filing and accessing of project data in a hierarchical order with the most sensitive data restricted to only those who need it.

If the data is at risk, I would take measures to secure it. If there is no way to secure the data, I would consider making the least important data public, so that the rest can be securely protected. Also, we must take action against those who are responsible for any data breaches or failures to secure sensitive information.
