Embrace it. Understand & accept it’s part of the process. Too often, we let these “failures” pull the person/team/organization down when in fact they should be celebrated. Failure gets you closer to success. Each failure has a many lessons that can be tweaked, adjusted & analyzed for improvement opportunities that get closer to the goal. Instead of bringing failure to the front, we pretend it’s not happening or worse create blame shame and guilt around it. Notice your body when receiving feedback- are you standing with your hands folded or leaning away from the person giving you feedback? Before we can truly receive and implement feedback we are being giving, we need to be open to it - consciously and subconsciously. If you find yourself taking a defensive posture, ask for a moment and open and close your hands. Take a breath. Then say you’re ready for the feedback. The person giving you feedback will appreciate you noticing you were becoming defensive (they probably already saw it), and the time they are taking to give you feedback will be well worth it.
