What do you do if you're faced with technical coding challenges in a software development interview?

Technical coding challenges can be raised due to main two reasons: (1)Engineer is not well aware of syntax and coding theory of given language. How: One has good logical and analytical skills but not able to shape in program or code. So, eventually skill is not transformed to useful module. Fix: Learn the particular language and make your hand dirty with coding practices with various cases. Learn basic things online tool, attend some seminar etc. i.e - variable declaration, assignment and behavior are different in JS,C#,SQL (2)Er is not able to draft a business logic efficiently, due to logical skills. How: Er has knowledge of prog lang but not having logic skills to write code. Fix: Improve logical skills , solve variety of problems.

Before the Interview: Brush Up on Fundamentals: Revise core programming concepts, data structures (arrays, linked lists, trees, graphs), and common algorithms (sorting, searching, recursion, dynamic programming). Practice Coding: Sharpen your coding skills by practicing on platforms like LeetCode, HackerRank, or CodinGame. Understand the Company: Research the company and the specific role you're interviewing for. This might give you insights into the types of problems they might present.

É normal em uma entrevista técnica o nervosismo atrapalhar um pouco, quem nunca teve um "branco" ao receber uma pergunta simples como "Quais os conceitos do SOLID?", ou até mesmo "Quais as melhores práticas de otimização de código?". É comum às vezes esquecermos de como fazer um simples laço de repetição, uma recursividade, o código mais eficiente e legível. Antes de uma entrevista, certifique-se de estar tranquilo para, até porque você estudou e se dedicou para esta entrevista. Reveja os conceitos básicos da sua linguagem que mais se sinta a vontade, faço alguns desafios em plataformas como "HackerRank" e vá confiante.

"Não vá com muita sede ao pote", tenha certeza que todas as dúvidas quanto ao problema apresentado tenham sido esclarecidas. Faça um teste de quadro branco, transcreva sua lógica para o "papel", pense na melhor solução, descreva-a em algoritmo para não se perder na hora da codificação e por fim codifique de fato.

Think Aloud: Express your thought process as you work through the problem. This lets the interviewer understand how you approach problems, which is often as important as finding the right answer. Explain why you’re considering a specific approach and what you expect to achieve with it.

In my opinion the best way to both reflect your plan & knowledge and also get involve your interviewer is to think loudly. The dialog + quick feedback will make the challange smoother and the interviewer will get to know your point of view on each step

Be honest and open in what you know and don't know. Ask questions to clarify if you are not sure. Threat it like a normal assignment or task that you do in your daily work. The worst what you could do is bluff or guess. Br carefull not to get into the "imposter syndrome". In the long term the above approach will help you and will be recognized!
