What are the most effective ways that a mentor can help a new podcaster develop their marketing strategy?

Being a Podcast Mentor, first and foremost, I try and figure out the defined target audience. I tell them to study their target audience in detail, what social media platforms they use, their age, the language and tonality they use, and their overall personality. Step 2, arrange data from reports or sample studies on what percentage of them listen to podcasts, how much time they spend on podcasts, the genres they prefer, and what listening apps they like. Step 3, platforms like Buzzsprout also release data on the average weekly number of downloads required to call a podcast successful. Once we collate the data, it helps us to set realistic goals for a new podcaster. The next step is competitor analysis. What do they do differently?

In my point of view, the most important thing is to define where you want to go, your target and then it will be easy to find who tou want to reach. After that, you can start researching your competitors to understand the market and create your own way

As a podcast mentor, my biggest advice to my clients is if you won't talk about your podcast, no one will. Based on what social media platforms your target audience uses, and what platform you're comfortable with, choose your two top social media platforms. Video podcasts are trending, if you've the bandwidth to create finely edited videos, YouTube and Instagram can be your channels. Post neatly edited full videos on YouTube. Create sharp 60-second podcast clips as reels and shorts, heavily edited with b rolls, transitions, and sound effects. These clips are highly effective for the podcast's growth. Friends and family are a boon for a new podcaster. Send broadcast WhatsApp messages to a list of related people for the initial push.

I think you can keep focusing on one podcast platform and also on youtube to make video podcasts. After that you can share in the other platforms and a very important thing is to make some cuts of every podcast to share in the social media and grow your audience
