Every employee has inherent aspiration which she/he wants to accomplish in the job and roles assigned to her/him. Firstly, I try to assess my subordinates/employees in various set of skills and foster those skills in which they are great at. At the same time, I try to challenge them in developing those skills which is quintessential for roles they are performing in the job but needs improvement. Secondly, constant encouragement and continuous learnings are key enablers to motivate employees and keep them to perform at their full potential.

Creo que la importancia de tener metas claras y desafiantes va de la mano con el grado de motivación del empleado. Recuerdo que en alguna oportunidad me propusieron una meta casi imposible de llegar, cuando se lo comente al directivo me respondió: "Se que no lo lograremos, pero quiero que esa sea la meta", en ese momento supe que no estaba en el lugar correcto. La motivación parte de entender y "explotar" al máximo las capacidades de tu equipo. Con metas inalcanzables solo estarás acelerando la deserción.

Un empleado empoderado no es un embajador es un creyente de la marca. Sabe el valor que aporte y entiende la enorme responsabilidad de cuidar los activos intangibles de la misma. Recuerdo en mi viaje a Guatemala cuando fuimos a un restaurante de comida regional mi compañera no se sintió a gusto con su pedido, automáticamente el mesero nos pidió las disculpas del caso y con total autoridad decidió no incluirlo en la cuenta. ¡No lo podíamos creer!
