Me parece muy útil considerar la perspectiva del fotógrafo. Y si bien estamos hablando de movimientos sociales, no quiere decir que no pueda ser llevado a otros ámbitos y reforzar la idea detrás de la foto, así sean fotografías en campeonatos deportivos, conciertos, naturaleza, bodas, del día a día… Demuestra en estos casos también el grado de involucramiento emocional u objetividad que pueda tener.

I tend to believe that a personal aproach - which means to be an insider - will result in a closer look on the protagonists and their struggle, their aims and hopes. Though it might be necessary to be able to maintain distance if appropriate.

Beeing an insider, even establishing friendship to any of the subjects can make it easier to ask of, intuitively know and realize the right way to shoot photos in a given and permanently changing environment. However it is up to you and your own comfortability and sensibility to choose the best approach. Otherwise - if you maintain a farther distance - you will likely have more freedom to show even negative sides or bad developments, etc.

A good photo is not just a snapshot of a moment, but a story that conveys a message, a mood, or a meaning. To tell a story with your photos, you need to think about the elements that make up a story, such as the characters, the setting, the plot, the conflict, and the resolution. I believe a good story nearly tells itself. So the first thing you´ll have to think of is the point of "public" interest. It might be interesting for a broader audience or some small group of enthousiasts. But whatever will be seen and told, you want to make sure you are able to cover the whole picture. I tend to react quickly on the setting of lights, possible perspectives and changing conditions. So in most of times You will not be able to think too much. Cover the story and later choose the right photos to tell it.

The final step of documenting social movements is sharing your photos with your intended audience. You can use different platforms and formats to share your photos, such as social media, blogs, websites, magazines, books, exhibitions, or slideshows.
