It is important not to share any grievances you hold onto from previous institutions, and certainly any against any previous supervisors. This is an opportunity to look to the future with optimism. Focus on your strengths and what you would bring to the position.

On the other hand, for women especially, you want to avoid using a passive voice in your writing. Google that if you're not sure what it means. Make sure you don't use too many vague acronyms as the ATS won't always know what they stand for. If you do, write out the whole term followed by the acronym in brackets. Make your writing concise. Can 4 sentences be condensed into 2? Quality over quantity.

We all know arrogant people and confident people - who would you rather be around? (my hope is you responded with "confident people," otherwise the below won't make sense, lol!). Confident people are aware of their talents and want to contribute them to improve the spaces and places they occupy. Arrogant people want to know what is in it for them.
