It's already very well expressed but I must add that writing the dialogue for a script is basically creating a back bone of a project, it's a Gita/Bible for any good script. If it cannot dipict the flaovour & milieu of the area where the story is based than it can boomerang very badly.

I think timing and rhythm is everything in dialogue. One of the trickiest stumbling blocks for first time (or even experienced!) writers is to write dialogue that sounds authentic, and true to how people actually talk. I found that the simplest trick to nailing these dynamics is to be a wallflower—listen to how people around you have conversations. Do they speak in monologues, short bursts of information, or in a language that only two longtime friends would understand? Write your dialogue with these quirks in mind and your characters will surprise you with what they say!

I find that this is especially challenging for those who are used to writing copy for marketing. When creating scripts for commercial purposes it can be easy to default to spelling out every detail. Instead it is often more effective to communicate ideas, benefits, and features by showing them. This allows viewers to make the connections themselves and then imagine how the product/service can benefit them.

You can write a fight that goes "Person A fights Person B. A wins" Thats fine-people have made multimillion action scenes from that...but my advice is to have more detail. At least one one action, one bit of business, one momment-it doesn't have to be dialouge-but one bit helps. It also helps to get into what there feeling and what there doing. You can establish a lot in an action scene about a character and momment-if you let them have it. another way of looking at it is this-you can do a lot of action scenes without principals. Its all stunt people. a good screenplay should give a reason why its not just stunt people there-cause a scene with just stunt people is cutable.
