What are some effective ways to promote your podcast and grow your audience?

Para iniciar en el Podcast que tengo, existe un nicho y son los que adquieren un computador o les arreglan uno con Gnu/Linux (Android es solo Linux no es Gnu), sin embargo, a mí como a muchos de esos usuarios, buscamos por internet como usarlo y los que se encontraba se centraban en la terminal y los comandos, cuando el 98% de las distros de Gnu/Linux son en modo gráfico, no usan el terminal y los comandos, todo se configura y trabaja en modo gráfico. Además,si yo soy técnico en ensamble y mantenimiento de computadores, también estaba produciendo el nicho, por lo que el Podcast apunta a enseñar a usar su PC con Gnu/Linux en modo gráfico al que llamamos Linux Nivel Básico. De esa forma inicié en el tema con mi Podcast.

Understand where the audience lives and know their persona to help drive more valuable content 3. Get a good understanding of what the audience wants to hear, what do they find valuable? do they have any pain points?

This can help you ensure that your content remains relevant and valuable to your audience over time.

Recientemente inicié, un año para ser exacto, cuando inicié con el Podcast. Busqué en Google para saber donde iniciar. Inicié en youTube y Spotify que era los más recomendados. Con Apple Podcast, los descarté porque requiere un equipo Apple (Computador, Ipad o Iphone) con su sistema operativo, y están fuera de mi presupuesto. Adicional, hice un grupo en Linkedin en donde está la misma información de esos Podcast con el tiempo máximo de Linkedin de 15 minutos máximo. También tengo un canal en Telegram en donde he colocado el mismo Podcast y recientemente en Whatsapp que puso también canales. El último sitio fue Tik Tok que tocó reducir a 10 minutos máximo los temas, por lo que tocó grabar de nuevo todo el programa.

Another great way to promote a podcast is to make sure you have a video version and then edit out short powerful clips where short-form video is very effective eg Linkedin, Instagram Reels, Tik Tok etc and link to the full podcast! It's awesome because you can get a ton of separate video content just from a single podcast!

It's also important to try different approaches at the start of any project. Your first edit/version might not be the best and it rarely will be in most cases. Being flexible with your approach takes work however it's worth the information you get from the failed attempts or versions. Keep in mind your personal preferences might not be the answer, keep this in check. Remember that from the start you are making assumptions about who your audience is and who will best respond to your content, so considering more diverse audiences can also be beneficial.

Lo que yo hice, fue agregar dentro de la página que tengo Google Sites, las direcciones electrónicas en donde encuentran los programas del Podcast, ya que está pensado para ayudar a nuestros clientes y futuros clientes. Digo futuros clientes porque, la gente que esté buscando información para aprender a usar su Gnu/Linux que viene en modo gráfico, encontrará el sitio web y allí encuentra los enlaces a los podcast de acuerdo al dispositivo en que investigue.

I find Wordpress really easy to use and can be used to promote your podcast. Another great idea is to take content from your podcast and turn it into written blogs, giving you more content on your website and thus more value to your target audience.

Something that is really powerful is creating really short snippets from your podcast to act as teasers to draw in your audience to the full episode and even better allow them to become subscribers

To begin interacting with these people that can take your podcast viewership to the next level, categorize current network connections into “grassroots” and “grasstoppers.” Grassroots are connections that are potentially involved in an industry or community but do not have influential gravity on their own within their network. Grastoppers, who do have key voices, are the target connections to seek after for relationship-building.

Make a list of influencers and podcasters in your interest area and reach out to a few every week, one will eventually say yes and the power of such collaborations could be a game changer as they will bring their audience to the table.
