Listen for proper nouns and acronyms and either ask or lookup anything you don't know. Learning the natural language of the communities you're curious about -- and others in the social impact space who work with those communities -- will help you find relevant resources to increase your impact. Above all, listen and be present, including physically. The frustration of wanting to have an impact at scale with a particular cultural group or community can be frustrating if you don't get out among the people once in a while. And to maintain perspective, finding mentorship and learning from other social impact practitioners working with other communities can help you refresh your perspective when you feel stuck.
