What are some ways to empower team members to create positive change through leadership?

Utilizing the SCOPE framework, helps leaders and teams align on the critical elements which define the team - its strategies, culture, objective, purpose, and ecosystem. This framework helps teams examine the ecosystem for opportunities, needs, and challenges which inform their purposes, objectives, and cultures, eventually resulting in the formulation and selection of winning strategies for resource deployment and action. Teams which align on these critical elements are collectively grounded in why they exist, what they exist to do and how they should do it, laying the essential groundwork for delegation and autonomous action.

One thing i have found helpful is to always review the project scope, bring them on the roadmap of the project, tell the team how much value we will create if we succeed on the project. I also try to applaud and celebrate their strengths and pay attention to weaknesses that i observe about each individual.

The foundational step to make this delegation successful is to create a team alliance in the beginning where the leader asks the team how they want to operate together. The leader can help the team define the behaviors and qualities each member wants to embody while working together. It is also a good idea to develop a conflict protocol to help them define how they will handle potential issues. My asking team to define these ground rules, the leader helps the members be accountable and engaged during executing tasks and set the cultural tone intentionally.

When it comes to delegating authority my steam is a self organising team. All our opinions matter. I tell them without their unique skills our progress is hindered to i welcome everyone’s suggestions to the project

Généralement, quand j’interviens dans un nouvel environnement, je commence par évaluer les compétences existantes en identifiant les forces et faiblesses de chaque membre de l’équipe en place. Puis j’offre des formations adaptées aux besoins spécifiques relevés. Concomitamment, il faut encourager à prendre des responsabilités… En responsabilisant ! Dans ce cas, les points individuels et réguliers sont nécessaires en adaptant le management visuel à cette situation (reportings agiles). Et puis il faut impliquer les équipes dans des projets stimulants. En résumé, le développement des compétences dans une équipe nécessite une approche holistique.

Tomar decisões estratégicas e assertivas, depende de uma série de fatores. Um deles, pode ser o empirismo, aprender com as experiências anteriores é um grande passo ao sucesso. Se um time possui perspectivas diversificadas, o campo empírico se torna ainda mais extenso e você possui ainda mais bagagem para se posicionar, além de suas próprias experiências e conhecimento, você tem a chance de absorver insights compartilhados por pessoas diferentes, com conhecimentos, culturas, opiniões e especialidades diferentes. Isso é enriquecedor e alavanca a colaboração e o valor das relações entre as pessoas de um time. Por isso, a importância do respeito, valorização e abertura para novas perspectivas!

I think this should be the first step to empower a team. This is the foundation for building trust and meaningful relationships. If we want to inspire others to develop the best version of themselves, we also need to be on the same road. The road starts by matching what we say with what we do, by being honest with ourselves, mindful of our actions, humble enough to say "I screwed it", and open enough to invite others on the journey.
