Externally I would recommend to give portal access to download file so we can upload it to the portal and clients can download the same.

Sending large attachment is very bad idea in current era. You may get many ideas to send large attachment but you are ignoring the person whom you are sending this material. If that person not able to download or taken decision not to download then you are wasting your energy and resources. nowadays people hesitate to open large attachment files. Simply use google drive or similar tools like wetransfer and many many tools you will find now days.

I use Microsoft cloud to share big working files with my colleagues. It’s easy and super convenient. You also get to control the level of access: read only or edit rights. Cloud has made collaboration quite easy.
