Senior leaders don’t behave like this, they do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done to move things forward. That often requires first taking on additional responsibility outside of your job scope.

I agree that being proactive and volunteer to take over more tasks helps you stand out. In my experience, it’s important to understand what matters most for you and focus on it. It goes hand by hand with saying “no” in some situations.

Your communication style and “table of contents” should always be modified according to the goals of your listeners and you should get to the point very quickly My suggestion is: - start from the final findings first - explain what’s in it for the listeneners - then expand on your values and goals and align them to the listener

You’ll need to shape the story and make a case for your promotion over the course of 6-12 months. And remember, goal setting isn’t something you only do at your annual or semi annual review.
