I have been developing and sourcing for B2B and B2C online platforms, and I feel that incase of ecom business the customer interface is very important however the game changer is managing the SOH/DOH to be able to preampt demand and minimize inventory. Userinterface is not science it is an art which can be achieved by common sense. I feel the simpler the better.

Setting up a website is NOT your #1 job. Learning the basics of search engine optimization IS your #1 job. Why? Because YOU know your product and YOU know how to describe your product better than some SEO guy. YOU know how your customers ask questions and YOU know how to answer them. All this information is where your website content (product descriptions), turn into search engine optimization. When your content matches the search terms a potential customer is typing into the search bar, YOUR site had a darn-good chance of rising to the top of search results. Other words to add include, as prefixes: Lowest Price, Best Quality, and so on. Study SEO. I did. it changed my life. Also, incorporate video into as much of your site as you can.
