Don't want to compare Apples to Oranges but it boils down to if your task involves rotation of job(object) then delta can't do it, generally.

Cartesian robots are simple in this case, easy to design and work with, the focus point here is 'Linear motion'. It travels linearly in each axis and is good at that. These can cover large spaces. So compared to SCARA, these are large and slow, SCARAs are compact but fast, generally.
