Working with co-ordination is always effective , if your colleague is working with different working style but at the end delivering the desired out put or able to get the work done without crossing any boundaries of designed system then it is completely fine. I believe one should constantly getting upgraded with their working pattern as holistic approach of adapting one’s positive side always adds advantage to your personality. At the end how you approach others, how effective you communicate and how you collaborate for value addition in task given matters.

Also understanding colleagues styles of working is also required and then aligning on styles will give higher results, in case not done at least communications should be aligned on what you want and how he will represent

The truth is some hold leadership positions or are employees but are least aware or unaware of their working styles and how they impact workplaces. First of all accept that every human being has different working style. Your colleague if fresher can easily adopt your style with some training. In case of experienced one, * clarify your expectations and understand difference of opinion in any case. * Explain the benefits or achievements you made in your working style in your work span. * Allow to open up his/her ideas , may it can be more effective. * Give some time to settle. * Appreciate and acknowledge wherever get chance. Slowly come to mid way and later on he/she will accept your working style. If still not happening, need to change your style. Keep learning, its not always enough.
