To prioritize time for stakeholder management in logistics, it is important to identify and categorize the stakeholders. -There would be external stakeholders such as transporters, CHAs, shipping lines, forwarders, manpower contractors etc. Depending upon the share of respective stakeholder in their respective service field and dependency upon them they can be prioritized. -There would be internal stakeholders such as sales & marketing, procurement, accounts, administration, human resource teams which have to prioritized depending upon the level of day-to-day and periodic interactions related to business operations.

There would be external stakeholders who would require spending maximum time with. Such as transporters may require regular communication to share the daily dispatch plan, communicate about any changes in plan, sharing and updating vehicle and container details, shipment loading status, shipment tracking, delivery status, and resolution of any issue in-transit etc. Internal Stakeholders such as planning and sales team may demand spending maximum share of daily time for sharing dispatch plan, urgencies of customers or on accounts of delays in production, asking for status on shipment deliveries, dispute resolutions with transporter for delays, shortage & damages etc.

For building trust and relationships with external stakeholders in logistics management, it would be important to provide the equal opportunities for business, growth and development. For a service provider the one of the important things would be get the payments on time as per agreed credit terms so that they can run their operations smoothly. Helping them in a problematic situation within the organizational guidelines and policies would also lead to create a sense of belongingness. Internal stakeholder relationship management is possible by providing support in day-to-day operations and by considering the challenges of their respective departments.

Additionally, we should establish clear expectations and mutually agreed-upon key performance indicators (KPIs) with our stakeholders. This ensures alignment and accountability, allowing everyone to understand their roles and responsibilities.
